Bridal Photography and Bridal Portraits is a tradition that has gained popularity lately.
What are Bridal Portraits?
Formal pictures of the bride in her wedding dress, taken a few days or weeks before the wedding in a nice outdoors setting like a garden, lake, nice building or in the photographer’s studio. The couple can choose to have photos taken of both of them in addition to, or instead of a bridal portrait.
Why should I spend money on Bridal Portraits?
Because it’s nice to include bridal portraits in wedding announcements, thank you cards and wedding albums. If you’re a bride who is very picky about how you look in pictures, this is a great opportunity to find the best angle without an impatient family member rushing you and is also a great opportunity to get to know the photographer better. Several years later when your groom has your bridal portrait on his desk, you’ll be glad in the investment of a bridal portrait and that you got it right. A bridal portrait session give you more time to get great portraits in a stress free environment with the best light and environment available, that’s is not always possible to get during the course of a wedding.
When should I schedule a bridal portraits session?
Ask your local newspaper how far in advance photographs for wedding announcements need to be submitted, and also make sure that your dress and accessories will be ready in time before you schedule the session. Usually the bridal photography portrait session is scheduled from a couple of weeks in advance to only days before the wedding day. Just keep in mind that if you choose to order prints to send out as guest cards you need ample time to print and mail. It’s also possible to schedule a bridal portrait session after the wedding if you so prefer.
How long does it take and how much does the bridal portrait session cost?
The Portrait session is usually between 1-3 hrs depending on how many poses, where and how you want the portraits taken. IGOR Photography has a 2 hour bridal portrait session for only $350. To save some money you can have your bridal portrait photography included in your wedding day package.
How to get ready before the session?
Get your hair and makeup professionally done before the session. Bring any accessories or props that you want included in the photo shots. You don’t need to bring a floral bouquet if you don’t want to spend extra money on it.
How do I find a great Bridal Photographer in Dallas or Fort Worth?
Talk to people and get recommendations and referrals. Do online searches and find local Dallas-Fort Worth photographers portfolios that contain bridal portraits that you like. Not all wedding photographers take good and artistic bride portraits. The portfolio will tell you the most of what kind of talent and style that the photographer has, then meet and/or talk to the photographer to see if you like him.
